She is the lady with many alter egos. Now she’s on V Magazine. Nicki Minaj real name: Onika Tanya Maraj, hails from Trinidad and Tobago by way of Queens, New York City.  This 26 year old rapper, and an R&B singer-songwriter, has been enjoying her success in the American music charts. Great publicity too. This barbie is going places.

Her outfits are worth talking about too. And what better way to showcase that than putting her on V Mag in tribal garb.  Sometimes her outfits are extreme but I like that she has her own camp of outfits like Lady Gaga.  In August 2009, Minaj signed to Young Money Entertainment. It’s been success since.

As we all know, with success comes the haters. In response to that she seems to be a funny girl with great spirits and so far the biggest hater has been Lil Kim but that’s another story. She let’s her alter ego/voices speak for her:

“I would crumble up and die if I had to wake up and be the same person every day. I don’t silence those voices anymore. I just let them speak.”

Her image is essential to her appeal, and she doesn’t let anyone dictate how she’s going to look, she told  V Magazine:

“Everything I do has been approved by me personally. My team is mostly made up of guys, but none of them would ever think about telling me what to wear or what to do with my hair. They know that ultimately I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do.”

She has also overcome some boundaries and restrictions.V Magazine writes:

Nicki Minaj…the funny face with the Day-Glo wigs, bounteous curves, and multiple personalities? Number two rapper of all time? In old-school hip hop circles the idea could be considered profane.
