Friday Feature: Danielle and Chantelle Piper
Twin designers, Danielle and Chantelle Piper, are one awesome duo. They are 23 year old African/Caribbean twins: fashion models, socialites, and fashion designers. They have appeared on a number of major television shows such as the Rachael Ray Show, NBC’s the Today Show, and an MTV commercial for Snickers. They have also graced the front cover of League Magazine and David & Young Magazine.
Can we get some background info from you?
We are the founders and designers of Treasure Chest Jewelry and Kastle designs.
We were born in the big Apple, New York City, but raised in the motherland Ghana until the age of nine. Our designs and style is inspired by many different cultures, shapes , architecture pictures and just our own ideas of what we feel society would love.
Tell us about Danielle and Chantelle(How did it start and what does it mean)
We are the Dpipertwins. Together we launched our fashion and accessory line Treasure Chest and Kastle Designs. We educated our self about the industry by attending the highschool of Fashion Industries and the Fashion Institute of Technology. One year later on February 2010, we made our debut by launching our lines during New York Fashion week at the venue The Gates.
Your designs are so unique who(or what)inspires your designs?
Culture, architecture or even something as simple as a imagery inspires our designs. Our minds are always flowing with sooo many fresh ideas that we walk with a little notebook where we sketch out our designs once they come to us.
Where there any hardships that you faced starting your venture?
We are blessed and Thankful to have received so much support and positive feedback when we launched our line, and with that said, we are ready to open any closed doors that come our way in order to be successful designers.
You worked with some of the worlds renowned companies…
Chantelle: Working in the accessories showrooms of Diane Von Furstenberg, Sevens for All Mankind, and Juicy Couture was a great experience for me. I learned so much from forecasting to production and designing.
Danielle: Working alongside such notable designer brand Marchesa and Maggie Norris was an enjoyable experience.

What is the best advice that you have been given?
The best advice that we have been given is from our mom. Everyday she tells us to “keep positive.” If anything keep us motivated it is those EXACT words. Nothing is handed to you in life you have to Go and Get it, and yes indeed hard work along with a positive attitude will put you one step closer to achieving your goal.
What is your best attribute?
Our imagination and creativity Is never ending. There is no telling of what we will bring next, so stay tuned.
Excluding yours what companies or brands do you admire the most?
We admire the brand Alice and Olivia. That brand is young, fun and Fashionable. We also loveeeee Mackage: their outerwear is fabulous, perfect fit. And as for shoes we love wearing our Christian louboutins and YSL.
