How many of you are like me that when you see an outfit at the store, you want to tranform it to look like nobody elses!
I can already picture it draped on your body and people asking me where I got it. Whether it is the basic white-tee from American Apperell, down to the black tights, I preffer to tell the mannequin to cease urging me to rob their style. Be unique. Be different.
Accesories could be a unique scarve, a unique shoe, a hat, a watch…Accesories are everything for the unique fashionista…and fashionisto. I’ll just focus on some jewerly finds for this one.
Finally, There is something about a Doctor’s Bag. I say it can be a unisex item.
Born in Paris, France 1987, not bad to progress early. This newcomer is not only a model but, a great photographer as well. He’s taking the runway on high winds. It’s thrilled to hear that he painted the Milan walkway with grace and color. Chosen to open and close for the Calvin Klein show 2009, this is an opportunity to great exposure and, many campaigns to come. Congrats and hope to see you as a muse for a fabulous designer.
I first saw them on Oprah as they beautifully acknowledged their Somali heritage and revealed that their fashion line, Mataano, means “twins” in their native language (Somali). I was proud to see some more black fashion designers emerging into the world of couture. They were an instant favorite. I later on checked out their inspirational on their website. I was very impressed at the fabrics, the various textures and the way these clothes drape on a womans body. These Washington DC ladies are pursuing their dream and inspiring others in the process. Their talent allows them to weave in amazing culture-inspired pieces that look like a dream. Take a look at their collection. The following is a variation of some of it…
Jourdan Dunn, Sessilee Lopez, Arlenis Sosa, and Chanel Iman (in i-D)
This to me was an excellent 2009 cover that reveals Edward Enninful’s, the Fashion Director, reaching to the depths of his creative mastermind. The four girls look great drenched in colors from the 90’s and shot by the talented photographer Emma Summerton. These ladies were truly captured in their best for the September 2009 cover. This is to those who couldn’t get their hands on this magazine.
This newcomer is sweeping the scene as Ports 1961 model. She is Puerto Riccan born and represented by the Elite Model Agency in New York. Did I mention she makes a cameo in Ricky Martin’s video! The video is called “It’s Alright”. She truly has a unique and versatile look to her. She’s a newbie on the scene but has already shashayed down the runway for big names like Benjamin Cho and James Coviello. This is only the beginning of her career. Kudos to Elite Model Management for being a vanguard for reproducing diversity in the modelling arena.
